My copy of the new Live in Germany CD has just arrived. Very professionally packaged. Have enjoyed what I have heard of it so far. Many thanks to Ian and others for all the work they put into making this material available.
It is striking that since 2002 (the year the JT Project was founded) there have been no fewer than six CDs released, compared to only one before then. Whilst only two releases have been put out directly by the Project itself, I think that there can be no doubt that its existence and work have helped raise awareness of Jake’s work and encouraged others to release more of the man’s work. Long may this continue!
15 December 2005 at 8:13 pm #4684Got mine yesterday – here in New York – Had a listen today – it is really excellent. Some of the spoken intros are really priceless and the audience seemed to be completely in sync with Jake that night. Pity the second half of this was lost because this could well turn out to be a favourite.
Well done Ian keep this type of thing coming.
On the ‘business’ end – how many do you have to shift to break even, and how are we doing so far?15 December 2005 at 9:04 pm #4685Richard
Thanks for the comments. Last time I checked we’d sold 173 copies. This covers all of the production costs but leaves us about 30 short of clearing the royalty payable to Jake’s estate. Fingers crossed and we’ll have that covered shortly. Having said that, proceeds from the Edinburgh Jakefest cover the difference so we haven’t made a loss.
We produced 450 so we have plenty for sale (you might just make it for Christmas folks!) and they will be available at future Jakefests.
There are other recordings floating around and if rights can be secured then it would be nice to do more, although this depends to some extent on the demand and looking again at the costs. Our main aim is to get at the BBC video archive if we can.

19 December 2005 at 11:21 pm #4687Just listened to the CD for the umpteenth time, brilliant stuff, a great shame that the second half isn’t available as I thought that Jake seemed to be really getting into his stride. Many thanks and a very Merry Christmas to everyone involved in the making of the CD.
21 December 2005 at 1:57 pm #4688Received mine last week – very happy with it. Good work by the project to get this released so others can enjoy it.
