Aaah, back in poor old bloody Scarborough.

Just thought I would post a quick message to say that it was lovely to see you all this weekend, I had a smashing time. Torrington was lovely, the gig on Saturday was overwhelmingly FAB and it was just really nice to meet you all/see you all again.

I am so inspired by this weekend that I intend to get back on with the old guitar learning process and am currently seeking a tutor in Scarborough.

Have you seen the pictures of Torrington? Gordi has managed to put some of them up on the site. If you look at the main menu – you can choose Photo Gallery. Not bad eh?

And I’d like to echo the many well-modelled expressions of appreciation which have been aired on our various pages, for a fantabulous jolly, a combination of the familiar and the new, with ingenuity and style. And Sarah did it virtually single-handed!

Yep they were all there………….. well lots of them, and it’s a shame that you couldn’t be, but like all absent friends you were there in spirit! And there was a space for you amongst the Torrington Ladies Magical Circle, broomstick an’ all……….. Have you seen the photos yet?

More importantly, Sr J, (who was also there in person) how did your book launch go? That was happening at the same time wasn’t it? Can we read about it anywhere on the net?

Sister Jo was indeed there in the form of Big Bad Roger (Stennett), though his/her announcement (on Saturday morning) wasn’t about a book launch, but about the stage musical [i]Sister Josephine Kicks The Habit, which is scheduled to have its world premiere on May 24. For full details – and regular updates about new venues – go to http://www.sisterjosephine.com As for a book launch, I hope I’ll be able to announce an anthology of Jake’s newspaper columns (he wrote more than 200 between 1990 and 1994) – they’re substantial pieces and beautifully written, and I’m just looking for a publisher.

That’s great news Ian. I so enjoyed your readings at Torrington and was hoping for such a development. That Saturday morning was a rich experience for a relative newcomer to Jake like myself.
