Girl in the Window, The

Words & Music: Jake Thackray

Poor frozen creature, never-endingly posing in the window,
Speechless and featureless, ever ready to fall.
Never-endingly beguiling, forever gesticulating
And waving and smiling for nobody at all.

Striking a pretty posture and likely as not
She’s hairless as a snooker ball and showing all she’s got!

Poor frozen creature, never-endingly posing in the window,
Speechless and featureless, ever ready to fall.
Never-endingly beguiling, forever gesticulating
And waving and smiling for nobody at all.

There’s a cheeky bloke that comes to dust you. I’ve seen his type before – a
Fingertip today and a handful tomorra!

Poor frozen creature, never-endingly posing in the window,
Speechless and featureless, ever ready to fall.
Never-endingly beguiling, forever gesticulating
And waving and smiling for nobody at all.

Staring out from your window with your indestructible grin –
Staring out in surprise at us bloody dummies staring in.

Like poor frozen creatures, never-endingly posing at the window
Speechless and featureless, ever ready to fall.
Never-endingly beguiling forever gesticulating
And waving and smiling for nobody, nobody at all.
