More Googled obscurities!
Does anyone remember Jake being on…
1) ‘About Women’, an Anglia TV magazine programme from 1974? His appearance is apparently mentioned in the following year’s ITV yearbook, and there are several clips from the same series on the BFI and East Anglia Film Archive websites – suggesting Jake’s appearance may still be in the archives.
2) ‘Grown-up World’, a Yorkshire Television programme from 1970, mentioned on the BFI site (and therefore in their archive?) mentioned in the following year’s ITV yearbookhere. No indication of what the program was about, but the same presenter/producer team (Michael Smee and Tony Scull) appear to have been responsible for a succession of programmes called things like ‘Mother Love’, ‘Home’, ‘School’, ‘New Baby’ etc – some sort of fly on the wall, slice-of-life type series maybe?
It strikes me that the retrospective stuff so far on Jake has been on the BBC, they haven’t really dipped into the ITV archive much – it seems like there might be something of a rich, unexplored seam there…
