Does anyone know the chances of us ever seeing a CD or even DVD release of Jake’s songs/appearances on these programmes? Surely that’s tens of original Jake songs unaccounted for? I’ve no idea how many he did – perhaps someone has the info?
If you look in the media section of the archive on the website you can find a list of the performances the BBC still holds for these two programmes. As for a DVD or CD release, never say never, but experience proves that the process of getting anything out is a slow one, so I am afraid that patience is called for. In the meantime, enjoy the Jake Thackray and Songs DVD!
right on. let’s get the ball rolling then! how do we start? jake and songs didn’t happen by accident!
Having got the JT&S DVD out, we know what we need to do. Progress with these things is not quick because there are many things which need to be co-ordinated, and there is a lot of time-consuming work (contracts, dubbing, editing, restoring) which takes time and money. Rest assured, however, that we are looking at what the next project should be. Getting more BBC footage out is at the top of the list.
