      Went to Salford Lowry last night and for the fifth or sixth time in my life saw Fascinating Aida “In Concert”.
      I’ve always been impressed with the sheer “wordiness” of their songs. How all 3 of them remember it all is way beyond me. They are becoming increasingly risque with their lyrics but (and I don’t know how this works) as women they seem to get away with it. (A group of ladies sitting behind us were in hysterics !). I bought the dvd of the show after the event and they signed the insert for me. It was £15 (which highlights the value of Jake’s dvd !). The tickets for the evening were priced at £21. (Which begs the question, should I have stayed at home watching “Strictly Come Dancing – The Results” and just bought the recording ? : The answer’s obviously “No”. There’s very little better than a live show !)
      Anyway, I won’t give too much away save to say that if you get the chance to see them perform “live” then my advice would be that you do.
      :laugh:

        We’re looking forward to seeing them live for the first time in March. I’ve loved the stuff I’ve watched on YouTube. Excellent wordsmiths should be supported.

          We’re going to see them live at the Liverpool Phil soon … it’ll be our third Sweet FA treat.
          They are marvellous if a bit too risqué at times … and they are unique – just like Jake was.
          I guess that’s what makes their concerts so infectious … and there is no cure!
          (PS For offbeat musical treats we can also recommend the Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain.)

            Quite right. We saw FA at Hall for Cornwall ten days ago. Highly professional, side-splittingly funny. Wordsmithery still lives. Yes, the language is very risqué so those who prefer a feck-free environment should abstain.

              OK – frankly I was disappointed. These ladies are certainly growing old very disgracefully. Quite a few laughs but even more squirms at the language and content. Prefer to remember them like they were … very sad.

                Which just goes to show;
                You can’t please everybody.
                🙁
