Incidentally, (& off topic, I know) but does anyone know how John’s getting on with Jake’s Biography ?I can answer my own question.
John has just e-mailed me to say that he’s hoping to get it finished by next summer. That should make this winter a bit easier to bear.

The deviations in my life are hopefully now nearing an end and so – I’m back on the Thack! Have learnt a bit of Pete Atkin too – thanks to a recommendation from here – and prompted by the tragic loss of dear Clive James.
Can I also just say how thankful I am that this site is still hosted and here – it would be awful to suddenly find it gone, so many, many thanks to Sneakytrick.
Regarding Lyrics tinkering – I have always tried to stay pretty true – I avoid the Rapist in Bantam Cock with “The way that some men do”.
As my name is never likely to be on an outside poster, the last verse of The Bull is changed to..
“These well known men expect us all to bow – There’s one of them here – He’s playing in front of you now”
Hope to contribute more soon – are there any gigs coming up down south?
