Members of this forum were kind enough to advise me 3 or 4 years ago about Jake singing this song.

It’s been a staple of my choir’s Christmas repertoire since then, and as we can’t sing it live this year, we’ve released a virtual version:

Three of us once sang an arrangement of this at our village’s Christmas Eve carol service. The next year we sang ‘Joseph’ – only to discover shortly afterwards that that was the day on which Jake had died. It just felt so poignant.
