I would like to express my gratitude to Malcolm Jeffrey and whoever else put together the lyrics and guitar music section for Jake’s songs on this website.

It may sound unbelievable but I can’t make it through a single day without humming or singing a Jake song (or three!) and I can’t put my guitar down without going through as many Jake songs as I can – and hence I’d be lost without the the lyrics and music section on this site.

I had put a few of my videos up on youtube of my first attempts at Jake songs but they were about 3 years ago now(when I was still at school)! so I shall have to put a few songs up now and see what difference 3 years of practice makes!

Hi there !

As has been said, the lion’s share of the credit goes, without a doubt, to Jake for writing and composing the songs, without whom…

The lyrics were transcribed by ear, from the original recordings, by the redoubtable Keith Donovan. We began tabbing the chords right back in the early days of the project when only around 6 or 7 of us were actively performing Jake songs in public, and so there was a small team of chord contributors who sent in tabbed interpretations of the songs : no single person sings and plays them all, so it was very much a team effort to get the whole lot down. All the transcribers are credited on each tab document and deserve our thanks : they know who they are !

My bit was mostly

luck at being involved from the start and already playing 50 of the things, so I had a head start on all the others ! :cheer:
and having access to Powerpoint, several chord sites and books, and the obsessive and completist nature of the computer programmer.
