Went to see Chris Wood (Oyster Band, Andy Cutting, Martin Carthy etc.) on Wednesday. He was keen to tell us there should be more ‘folk’ in folk music – songs about ordinary people, and proceeded to sing some. Reminiscent of some of Jake’ songs about ‘ordinary’ people. He went on to wax lyrical about Jake’s songwriting and then did an idiosyncratic and very beautiful version of ‘To Do With You’.

I am aware of Chris Wood and will see if he’s due to appear anywhere near me in the near future.
“To Do With You” is one of my all time favourites toboot.
