Would dearly love to but I’ve had my festival allocation for this year at Whitby! I’ll try and escape and get over on the Sunday but I have a new business. Which is a cafe with music, so maybe a Sheffield Jakefest could happen soon??
Thinks….Another new old fan coming back to Jake’s material after I don’t know how many years! I have been banging the drum about Bantam Cock for a long time, so it obviously made a big impression on my then juvenile self back in the 70’s, so imagine my delight to find a copy of the ‘Best of’ CD at Whitby this August. I’m now going ‘on again’ driving my missus insane with endless renditions of Sister Josephine, Off work, The Lodger and of course, On Again.
In my humble opinion anyone who can get the lyrics ‘rascally episcopal’ into a song should be a candidate for lyrical sainthood!
Thanks Jake, you’ve made my musical year, and I hope to spread the words to many new fans over the coming years!
