I don’t need to google Hamish Henderson, as I know of him from the past in the folk world
Hooray! I find myself quite frequently having to enlighten people who haven’t heard of him. I have in the past been known to run together his ‘D-Day Dodgers’ with Jake’s ‘The Remembrance’.

Aliasmacalias is me, Ian Burdon; Scar Tam is Ian Watson. I am not even 1/4 Scottish, being from Derby, but I have lived in Scotland since 1969
The sig quote is not from Thackray but has been with me for a long time and is now a habit. Aliasmacalias dates from early in my internet usage when I used multiple pseudonyms for reasons which I can’t entirely remember but which seemed like a good idea at the time. It is by way of an oblique tribute to the late Hamish Henderson (Google him).

Details are sketchy, however the programme is in production and my understanding is that it is scheduled for Spring 2006. A camera was at the Jakefest in Edinburgh last month although what, if anything, will be used hasn’t been decided

doggerel is a cross between a mutt and a bantam. Instead of a cock and bull story you get both a cock and the dog’s bollox leading to all sorts of confusion and quite possibly a documentary on channel 5.

I always hear I Stayed Off Work as a love song, albeit a peculiar one. No matter what life or death throws at the narrator he is still besotted with her – and since he met her he experiences the world differently so that he doesn’t care what happens to him. Which is just as well

Yes. When performing Familty Tree I never sing that Uncle Sebastian raped the Duchess – usually he shags her but on one ocasion for the tender sensibilities of the people of Knutsford I bottled out and he ‘had’ her.
