Buy yourself the Jake in a Box set and give your dad the collections for Christmas – if you haven’t worn them out yet 😉
He’s a self-confessed Jake fan too!
Although not so much that he knows how to spell his name!
Welcome – have fun.

There are others but most of them are out of print – occasionally an album or a copy of the out-of-print book will appear for sale on EBAY – round these parts we have an unwritten rule not to bid against each other for such treasures.
3. All you need to know about us – We are pretty much your classic internet phenomenon – we gravitated towards each other drawn by the shared experience of being amused, entertained, delighted, saddened, convulsed and enriched by the music and musings of yer man Jake. Most continents are represented – most if not all English speaking countries are represented – some French too – you should know about Jake’s French ‘side’.
Some among us should take pride in the success of the ‘mission’ of this site – to promote Jakery Thackray wherever and whenever possible.
My name is Richard – I’m from Glasgow but live in New York – I’m a Thackorak.
Welcome. You’re lucky! There’s almost 300 million bods over here and only 4 have heard of Jake – me and the three guys I told about him.
Thanks Phil and Ian, my family still live in Glasgow and it shouldn;t be hard for me to get hold of the releases – but Gordon’s answer was the reason I asked – we’re all going to buy them anyway so might as well support the site while we are at it.
This is brilliant news – does anyone know if there will be US release of the material – and also will they be available through this site?
Got mine yesterday – here in New York – Had a listen today – it is really excellent. Some of the spoken intros are really priceless and the audience seemed to be completely in sync with Jake that night. Pity the second half of this was lost because this could well turn out to be a favourite.
Well done Ian keep this type of thing coming.
On the ‘business’ end – how many do you have to shift to break even, and how are we doing so far?Craig HARRIS wrote:
I have been unable to get hold of any of the recent CDs (Project included) because I don’t live in the UK – or perhaps I haven’t understood the rules. Will I be able to get this stuff next time I’m in the UK?
Don’t wait til you get to the UK try these:

Very nice little find thanks Paul – and here’s a link – the Jake discussion starts just on the 19 minute mark.
…….and member #1000 comes and goes without comment from the board – thats a bit of a shame.
*******CONGRATULATIONS Gordon – 1000 members and going strong ********
Who would have thought it a couple of years ago?
And who was member #1000 by the way?Post edited by: richardshields, at: 2005/11/06 20:39
Don’t laugh …. in the Jolly Captain, I usually change the line
"She can scratch, she can scrape till she’s black in the face"
to blue or green in the face – neither of which has the snap of the original but I live in New York the home of PC.BTW how about once humped a duchess

Volume One????????
Well I sent him a couple of albums and he instantly liked them – he’s played a song almost every week – it wasn’t all me – David H had a hand in there too. Being familiar with his show and his tastes I just knew Jake would fit there.
